Howdy fellow penguins! We hope you’re enjoying a spooky Halloween, especially if you’re celebrating it with us on our island!
It’s been a blast enjoying this party with everyone. We have been able to create amazing moments with you through visiting rooms, completing quests, making Halloween costumes and more! The team is really happy to provide you with a joyful (but scary) celebration. We can’t thank enough for the support the community has provided.
We have noticed an increace in numbers when it comes to players visiting during Mascot Meetups and although it satisfies us seeing everyone try to come together, we also noticed that our Queue system was impacted drastically by that, having as many (if not more) people in it compared to those on the island enjoying fun moments with Gary. This has made a lot of players be left out of these unique experiences, especially considering that we have added a Party Quest for meeting with Gary (which by extension blocks users from getting the Quest Reward for this party).
The team has heard your feedback and has taken some actions:
- Moving forward and counting with today’s scheduled visit, Mascot Meetups will no longer become Quests nor will gatekeep any rewards. This way our beloved Mascots won’t stop you from completing your Quests and you can focus more on the experience with them;
- Starting with future Mascot Meetups post Halloween Party 2024, we won’t announce dates, times, or servers where the Mascots in question will show up. Having set information be given prior to the actual meetups could lead to users joining the game many hours before meetups, making servers go into queue too early and blocking users from enjoying the game as normal. Mascot Meetups should provide an open and equal chance to everyone, so it’s best that we provide a common ground where everyone can have fun;
- To make sure that these unscheduled Mascot Meetups are fair and square, we will provide more visits and make sure that they happen at every server and at every major timezone to reach out to a broad amount of players. We know how important it is to reach out to everyone, especially those who don’t follow the PST Time Zone, so we’ll also keep an eye on a diverse range of visits to accomodate every kind of player.
We hope you understand our next steps with Mascot Meetups. As the game grows, it becomes harder and harder to provide the same entertainment to everyone, but our team has been hearing your concerns and working on making sure you have good moments while playing on our island. Our volunteer work will try to create new ideas and tools towards making Mascot Meetups more accessible. We can’t wait to see every one of you to meet with your favorite Mascots (we know how much they mean to you).
Until next time… Waddle on!
