Happy Monday my frens! It is time, once again, to shine the spotlight on another amazing member of our community with one of my favorite parts of the week. Time to announce our 127th Penguin of the Week!
This week we are celebrating ocado! Ocado waddled onto the island on July 3, 2024, and over the past 418 days has become a friendly face you’ll often spot around the island. She’s especially at home underground, where Cart Surfer is her game of choice. Most of her coins come from daring flips and sharp turns on the tracks, and if you ask us, she makes it look effortless.
If you haven’t spotted her there, we are certain you could find her helping others earn their belts in the dojo, or telling people how to unlock the latest codes. ocado is always lending a helping flipper.
This week’s nomination comes from a staff member who happened to notice just how much time she spent helping others:
“She spent so long walking some new penguins through how to clear their cache to see the pin last Monday. It wasn’t a quick explanation either, she stayed with them step by step until they were able to see it for themselves. That kind of patience really stood out to me, because not everyone would give up their own time to make sure someone else got to enjoy the game. I’ve seen her around for a while and she’s always seemed very friendly and helpful, but that moment really showed just how much she cares about others on the island.”
That sums up ocado perfectly, patient, cheerful, and always ready to lend a flipper. Whether she’s offering tech help, cheering others on, or just spreading a bit of joy in the room, she has a way of making every penguin feel included.
For her kindness, ocado will receive 10,000 coins, the exclusive Penguin of the Week background, and of course, the legendary Green Viking Helmet.
